Counsel Planner is used by lawyers in Italy, the United Kingdom, Ireland and the United States. Legal systems differ, public holidays differ, matter type names differ. Regional Settings make the app speak the language of your jurisdiction โ regardless of the interface language.
What you can configure
From Regional Settings you control two independent things:
- Jurisdiction โ determines the matter types available when you create or edit a case file. Working in England youโll see Civil, Criminal, Family and so on. Working in Scotland the categories will reflect Scots law.
- Public Holidays โ determines which days are highlighted as non-working in the calendar. Holidays appear in a different colour in the monthly and daily views, so you can see at a glance whether a hearing falls on a non-working day.
The two settings are independent of each other and independent of the interface language. You can use the app in Italian with an English jurisdiction and UK public holidays, or any other combination that reflects your actual situation.
How to access it
Open Settings from the icon in the top right, then tap Regional Settings under the General section.

On the screen youโll find the two selectors โ Jurisdiction and Public Holidays โ each with a short description of its effect. Choose the country that matches your legal system and place of work, then tap Save in the top right.
Supported countries
Currently supported:
- ๐ฎ๐น Italy โ Italian jurisdiction, Italian public holidays (including Easter Monday)
- ๐บ๐ธ USA โ US jurisdiction, federal public holidays
- ๐ด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ฅ๓ ฎ๓ ง๓ ฟ England โ English jurisdiction, England bank holidays
- ๐ด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ท๓ ฌ๓ ณ๓ ฟ Wales โ Welsh jurisdiction, Wales bank holidays
- ๐ด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ณ๓ ฃ๓ ด๓ ฟ Scotland โ Scottish jurisdiction, Scottish public holidays
- ๐ฎ๐ช Ireland โ Irish jurisdiction, Irish public holidays and bank holidays

You can set jurisdiction and public holidays to the same country or to different ones, depending on your situation. A solicitor based in Scotland who also handles English proceedings, for example, can freely choose whichever combination is most useful.
Canโt find your country?
New jurisdictions and holiday calendars will be added in future versions. If your country is not yet in the list, you can let us know directly from the app: at the bottom of the Regional Settings screen youโll find the Request a new Country link, which opens a pre-filled email to our support team. Every request is reviewed โ and the most frequently requested ones are added first.
